Ring a Month calendar 2021
A celebration of handmade rings
The rings in the 2020 ring a month calendar
Thank you to everyone that has been a part of the Ring A Month challenge this year - whether you just managed to do one so far or you've made a ring every single month I love that you are getting involved.
I started the challenge on 31st December 2018 mainly to make myself make more rings! I expected a few of my jeweller friends to take part but I was not expecting what the challenge has become! Now, coming up for 2 years later we have a thriving Facebook group and Instagram feed with thousands of rings created and shared - well done everyone!
We had our first Ring a Month calendar in 2020 and I asked the community if you would like another one this year and there was a resounding yes!
I would love you to submit a ring or rings for consideration for the calendar.
How to submit a ring
The photo
Choose a clear photo of the ring. I'm not just looking for great rings I'm looking for great photos of rings! Please ensure that the ring can be clearly seen and that the image is good enough to print.
You can find more about how to check your image and what is good enough to print here >
Don't include any text on your image, I will be ensuring that every photo is credited and want to do that all in the same font so that it is consistent.
If you can send an uncropped version of the photo that is helpful but not always necessary.
Send it
Email it to me anna@jewelleryschoolscotland.co.uk along with the following:
1. Your name as you would like it to appear in the calendar (if your ring is chosen I will be crediting you and adding your name)
2. The theme the ring was made for
3. The country you live in
Please send one ring per email and include all the above information each time if you are submitting more than one
DEADLINE Sunday 8th November 2020, 11.59pm GMT
FAQs
How will you be choosing the rings?
I'll be looking through all the submissions to finalise who gets chosen. I am looking for a range of rings from beginners to advanced but the quality of the image is going to be a deciding factor.
How can I buy the 2021 calendar?
I will be putting it up for sale on pre-order soon. I'll set a cut off date for pre-orders to ensure they can be sent out to international customers in time for christmas.
How much will the calendar be?
I am just checking postage costs and printing costs so I will publish the costs as soon as I can.
As it will be sold on pre-sale I will know how many calendars I need to order so I don't plan to factor in any additional cost for wastage. I'm not doing this as a money-making exercise but to celebrate the work of the group.
When will I know if I've been chosen?
I'm planning to notify everyone chosen by 15th November 2020
Can I buy more than one calendar?
Please do! I hope it will make a great gift for people, especially if your work is in it!
